The work on this site is provided for educational and scholarly purposes, and is made accessible under the limitations of non-commercial fair use. Bibliographic metadata (information about the works) may be reused in any medium without prior permission, provided the CCS Research Repository (RR) is credited. Creators retain all copyright to their work and select the licensing applied to the work (all rights reserved, Creative Commons, or public domain).
When reusing or referencing content from the RR, researchers must determine and comply with copyright or other use restrictions. Transmission or reproduction of protected items beyond that allowed by fair use or the applied Creative Commons license requires the written permission of the copyright owners (in this case, the creators).
For creators
If your textual work has been published by an external organization, you need to verify what you are allowed to post online. Many publishers allow inclusion in an institutional repository or uploading a preprint version of your manuscript. To check publishing agreements for academic journals, use SHERPA. For books, please check your individual agreement with your publisher. If your publishing agreement does not allow posting online, you can still include the abstract, information about the work (including the link to the publisher’s website), etc. but not the full-text of the work itself.

Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs: CC BY-NC-ND (allows others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially)
Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike: CC BY-NC-SA (lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under identical terms)
Attribution-NonCommercial: CC BY-NC (lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge you and be non-commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms)
Attribution-NoDerivs: CC BY-ND (lets others reuse the work for any purpose, including commercially; however, it cannot be shared with others in adapted form, and you must be credited)
Attribution-ShareAlike: CC BY-SA (lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under identical terms)
Attribution: CC BY (lets others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation)
Public domain (no copyright, no attribution required, can be used however anyone wants)
